New Year Mass at Southwark Cathedral

On Tuesday 10th September, Miss Heffron, our chair of Governors, Mr Moffatt, and myself accompanied Head Boy and Girl team to the beginning of the year Mass at St George’s Cathedral which was celebrated by the Most Rev. John Wilson, Archbishop of Southwark.

We discussed our School Development Objective number three ‘Excellence in Leadership’ and reminded ourselves of our leadership commitments to uphold our school core values and to serve our community.

“We sang new hymns with schools from the Diocese and the choir were astonishing!” Kaelan

“Our new Archbishop, John Wilson, was very warm and welcoming. He delivered an outstanding homily on the importance of the Bible and loving one another as Jesus taught us.” Jacob

“A year 11 pupil sang a beautiful solo during communion. It was in a different language but I still felt that it spoke to me about loving God.” Lucia

“We sang lots of new hymns but my favourite was 'Laudate Dominum' as I’ve never sung in Latin before and it was a memorable moment. We would like to sing it in school to sing praise to the Lord.” Agam

“We want to thank Mr Moffatt for treating us to a delicious lunch, it was very generous of you.” Head boy and girl team.
