Sancta Familia Catholic Academy Trust
The Governing Body of Sacred Heart has agreed to begin a formal consultation on a proposal for the school to convert to academy status and join the Sancta Familia Catholic Academy Trust (CAT). There is a link to the trust's website here.
Sancta Familia CAT brings together Catholic schools across the Merton, Sutton, Lambeth and Croydon Deaneries, with a shared mission to promote academic excellence and personal development within a strong Catholic ethos. The Trust supports collaboration between schools to enhance outcomes for all pupils.
For pupils and families, there will be no change to the day-to-day experience at the school. However, behind the scenes, the school will benefit from closer partnership working, sharing expertise and opportunities across the Trust to further strengthen education and support for both pupils and staff. This represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of Catholic education, ensuring our schools remain strong, sustainable and forward-looking.
The consultation will take place from Monday 9th March 2026 to Friday 17th April 2026. We welcome any feedback or questions during this period, which will be shared with the Governing Body ahead of a final decision. After the consultation closes, governors will carefully consider all responses before deciding whether to proceed with the proposed conversion in the best interests of the school community.
