    About Us

Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School is a two-form entry, voluntary aided school in the London Borough of Merton and places are allocated by our governing body once the application process (explained below) is complete. Our Published Admission Number is 30 children per class in Reception and 26 children for Nursery morning and afternoon sessions.

We have limited availability in some year groups for in-year admissions. Please contact us for more information or to arrange a visit.

Families looking for a Reception or Nursery place for the next academic year (from September 2022) are warmly invited to join one of the Headteacher’s tours which are being held across the Autumn term (dates below). You can sign up for a place on a tour here or call the office on 020 89420215 during school hours if you need to request an alternative time for a tour. All our tours will be led by Mrs Dolan Walsh (Headteacher) or another senior member of staff. There are limited places on each tour so please bring a maximum of two adults per family.

We firmly believe that visiting our school is the best way for families to discover what makes Sacred Heart special. Have a look at our Gallery page  for some photographs of our Nursery and Reception classes in action, watch our Early Years welcome or 'Learning in Love' video, or download a copy of our prospectus below. We appreciate that applying for schools or nurseries can be daunting so please do contact us if you have any questions about the process.

    School Admissions

Whether you're applying for a place in Reception or an in-year transfer, please be aware of the following:

    • Two application forms should be completed. Please complete your local authority's Common Application Form (CAF) for Reception or the In-Year Transfer Application as well as our Supplementary Information Form. Merton residents can complete the Common Application Form (CAF) for Reception applications online at https://www.merton.gov.uk/education-and-learning/schools/admissions or click here for Merton's In-Year Application Form. If you do not live in Merton you will need to apply through your own local authority and you can include Sacred Heart in your application. Please head to your local authority's website and follow the links to school admissions. Sacred Heart's Supplementary Information Form is available to download below or the school office can let you have paper copies.

    • Return the Supplementary Information Form to the school and complete the CAF online, return a paper copy to the Local Authority directly or through the school by the deadline published by Merton. Completion of the Supplementary Information Form is not mandatory, however, if it is not completed, the governing body will not be able to consider your application fully against the school's faith criteria.

    • Please include copies of baptismal certificates (if available) with the Supplementary Information Form. Your child's baptismal certificate (if available) will be copied for the school records when the Supplementary Information Form is returned to the school. If your child is offered a place we will also need to see their birth certificate before they start school.
