  • Geography

Geography is the study of the surface of the world. Geography explores:

    - Locational or place knowledge

    - Human and physical processes

    - Fieldwork and the use of maps

At Sacred Heart, we follow the National Curriculum and allocate specific skills to geography topics in each year group. These topics and skills have been carefully designed so support other areas of the curriculum such as history, art or DT. Skills are revisited throughout the key stage and are supported by a clear progression of skills so that knowledge and skills are explored at a deeper level enabling children to know more and remember more.

Our Geography Curriculum is enhanced through other events such as Recycling Week, Chinese New Year and International Day. Sacred Heart strives to be environmentally friendly. We currently hold a Silver Eco Schools award and are now working as a school community towards achieving gold through the hard work and efforts of our Eco Warriors!
