Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School
Eco Reps are democratically elected pupils who lead relevant campaigns in helping protect the environment. Eco Reps are leaders who help support the school and local community to reduce waste, encourage recycling and focus on saving resources such as water and electricity.
Our aim is to reclaim our Eco School Status (previously silver) by working on the Eco Schools topics:
We are currently focusing on:
Litter: To reduce the amount of litter in the school and local environment
Energy: To reduce the amount of energy being used by the school
Waste: To decrease the amount of waste produced and increase our recycling
As part of our new Eco action plan, the year 6 children have been looking at different ways to improve and support our school environment.
We have been given a brilliant opportunity to plant 3 Veolia Orchard fruit trees in our prayer garden. The Eco leaders and Eco Representatives from each class are excited to care for and monitor the growth of these trees.
